Y2K Warning
By: Charles Randolf
You have probably heard a lot about this thing called the Y2K bug-
but you may not know commonly used applications could be at risk!
If you are running Office 97 - Standard or Pro and haven't patched it
you could be facing some serious date anomalies.
The patches you will need are the SR-1 and the SR-2 and can be
found by going to the Office 97 upgrade site here:
Officeupdate @ Microsoft.com
You will need to download and install SR-1 first ~ unless your Office
already has it installed.
You can find out what SR is installed on your Office by going to Help
and clicking About.
A note about installing Office 97 on Windows 98:
Your Ms Access will NOT function until a registry patch (AcLicn97.exe) is ran,
which you can find by clicking here:*
Access License FixAccess License Fix - Main Download
Editors Note: This is a large oversight by Microsoft, we would expect problems
like this to be discovered during beta testing of a new operating system.
The patch fixes the problem easily and doesn't require another re-installation.*We Can Not be responsible for downloading from other sites, please scan
all files before installing any software for viruses.
