get answers, and have fun. It's also a place where everyone is in
the same fix when it comes to learning how to use the 'Net. Please
feel free to use this forum as a another resource in your quest for
Internet knowledge.

How To Use The Discussion Forum
Using the Webnovice forum is easy to learn. This page is the entry. From here you can read previously posted messages, post your own message, search for a message that contains words or terms you are looking for, and you can reply to any message.
Start with the Contents Page. Here you'll find a list of all the articles posted along with a subject line. The newest articles are always at the top. Click any article that interests you to read it. After you read an article you may post a reply to it by clicking the Reply link.
If you find that there are no articles that relate to the subject you had in mind, or you just want to start something new, click the Post link. This will take you to a page that will let you write your own message. If you are asking a question, check back in a day or two for answers. This is an open forum so anyone can post messages or replies.
You can also Search for articles that relate to a subject, term, or word. This is a quick way to find if there are articles posted that may help you without checking the Contents page. To use the search feature, type in a word or term that relates to the subject you have in mind in the search input box. Clicking the Search button will bring you links to pages in the forum that contain references to the terms you searched for. Clicking the article will open it for you to read.
Note: While in the discussion forum the Home link in brackets at the top of the pages may confuse you. This link will not take you back to the Webnovice Home Page -- rather, it brings you back here. If you wish to go back to the Webnovice Home Page, use the link on the menu bar on the left side of any page.
There are a couple of rules, though. I know, I hate them too. But sometimes it's necessary to point out to certain individuals that some things are just not proper.
- Rule #1 - This is a 'G' rated site. No nasty stuff will be permitted. If you feel that you must discuss issues related to adult content or use language not fit for public, find another place in which to do it. This isn't it.
- Rule #2 - Blatant advertising is a no-no. You can post articles related to products you have used and recommend products to others if it will help them solve a particular problem. To promote a product or service find another place to do it in.
- Rule #3 - Degrading, debasing, humiliating, or flaming other users who post articles here is not permitted. This is a place for beginners to feel free to ask questions and contribute information. If you think a question is stupid, you are much to wise in the ways of the 'Net to be here. Look for a place where your superior intellect is appreciated. I suggest MENSA.
- Rule #4 - I have control over articles that get posted. Articles that contain any of the above will be deleted.
