We Review The KEYKatcher

W
e were recently introduced to a new device called a "KEYKatcher". The
KEYKatcher is a small device (a bit less than 2 inches long), and judging from its
size, it would not be useful for much. On the contrary, the KEYKatcher is a
very powerful device. The KEYKatcher presents an innovative way to monitor
your household computer activities. You can see if the kids have been going
to the naughty porn sites, been in chat rooms with shady characters, etc.

Now get this - there is no software installed on your computer. The
KEYKatcher plugs in at the back of your computer where your keyboard plugs
in (it takes its power from the keyboard cable). As keys are pressed, they
are also recorded inside the KEYKatcher. This allows you to see exactly
what has been typed on your computer. The KEYKatcher-32K model also
features something called "NetPatrol", which automatically finds every
occurence of http, www., .com, and .net. This makes it really easy to see
where the kids have been on the internet.

Just to make things even sweeter, the KEYKatcher stores all the keystrokes
in non-volatile memory. You can unplug the KEYKatcher, and all the
information is still stored safely inside. You can take the KEYKatcher to
the office, and read it out there if you desire. The device is accessed
using any word processor or text editor. Just type in the password, and the
KEYKatcher types a menu on the screen.

Why not use software? Just Plug the KEYKatcher in, and you are done. There
is no software to learn, since it is accessed using your favorite word
processor. The KEYKatcher also uses no system resources (no hard drive
space, no CPU cycles, no RAM). Some monitoring programs take screen shots
at defined intervals, which really bogs down your CPU and hard drive.

WebNovice has found a unique use for this device, using it as our master
password list holder, we can store all our passwords on this device
(which is a great deal safer than storing it on your harddrive)
and later recall it simply using Notepad; Since its stored on this device
no one even knows its there nor do they know how to hack into it!

In Conclusion:
We think this is a great product, and is a must have for any gadgeteer.
Stay tuned for our comprehensive review.
