Guaranteed Failure (11 Deadly Sins)

1. Ignore what's already out there.
Even the best website might not fit your business model, so
ensure you are aware of your goals or you will loose out fast.
2. Think LSD Websites.
If your website looks like its on acid, many viewers will log off
your site faster than you can spell A C I D.
3. Make your site run like a square wheel.
Make your sites creep and your viewers will run - very fast
away from your site. - CLICK.
4. Search Capability? Ha.
Make your site hard to find items and leave your viewers
confused and frustrated - they will never be back.
5. When users are ready to buy something, confuse 'em.
Make your site a 12 click buying process and watch those
would be buyers click off in frustration.
6. Charge expensive shipping prices, and hide them.
Many purchasers get turned off when shipping isn't clear UP FRONT
and when they see those 10 and 12 dollar shipping fees, they run scared.
7. Receipt - You don't need no receipt.
If your site doesn't return an invoice or receipt on-screen and via
email, you can guarantee annoyed customers.
8. Integrated System? For what.
Most business fail when their websites don't jive with their accounting
and invoicing systems. This is a sure-fire way to go to bankruptcy court.
9. Charge higher prices than other sites.
Don't be fooled for a minute your customers aren't shopping around.
Charge what you can for a decent profit, but don't get carried away.
10. Feedback - I just chucked the old comment box out the door.
When you eliminate feedback forms you can severely sever the link
between you and your viewers.
11. Make A Site That's Hard To Use.
If your website is harder than phoning, faxing or mailing you to buy
something or drive to the library - then your site will go unused.
