The Linksys 10/100 Networking Kit
By: The Editor

We found the manuals well documented and helpful,
we also had little trouble installing and getting windows
to recognize the cards.

Our first look revealed a 5 port hub, power adapter,
two high speed network cards and two 15 foot
high-speed cables.

The cable included is high quality 15 foot category 5 cable, which plugs from the cards into the 5 port hub which is also included.

We would have preferred the hub have a heavier duty casing other
than a plastic housing, but realize that would be cost prohibitive.

The Hub has the most detailed front panel we have seen, which indicts speed, networking activity and everything you need to know to troubleshoot a loose cable.

The cards are high quality and include a "wake on LAN" cable, so you
can save on power and wear & tear by remotely waking up the other PC.

You will need a free slot for each PC you want to connect.

While this networking kit works with NT and Linux as well, we
decided to cut our review short by focusing on the most likely
usage - a Windows 98 network.

We were able to connect full duplex and copy files - Wow this
is one fast network.

In Conclusion
You definitely save by buying this bundle. We recommend this kit,
for anyone wanting to link their PCs and take advantage of the
screaming speed of this 100 Mbps networking kit.

The Linksys 10/100 Networking Kit has a street price of $127.00.
