EMAIL TO A GROUP
Say you are a "Scout" Mom or Pop, and you want to tell the rest of the
kids to meet at a certain park, now ordinarily you would write an email
to each person, but when you have a larger group; say of 10 people or
more, you are talking a real time consuming process.
Carbon Copy
A Carbon Copy or CC: sends each person the exact same email.
The way you would want to do a CC is to send an email to the
first person in your list, then click the CC: button and add all
the other people in. Then type your body of your message.
That's all you need to know to send it. But there is one problem
with this method. It exposes your email list, in other words-
who ever gets your email will SEE EVERYBODIES EMAIL
address - which could upset a lot of people.
Now we will tell you how to avoid that.
Blind Carbon Copy
BCC or a private carbon copy will hide all those email addresses,
but to prevent spamming, Microsoft has made this option a little
more hidden.
When you compose your email you will have to pick someone from
your contact list to BCC. CLICK THE CC ICON.
OH NO - YOU MEAN I HAVE TO ADD EVERYONE IN MY
CONTACT LIST?
No, just add ONE person to your list, it can even be yourself.
Then click BCC.
Now you should compose your email TO yourself, then in the BCC
field you type in your ENTIRE LIST. Here is how you do this:
After the first email you added, edit the box by clicking in it.
Add each email address separated by a coma. Exanple:
Firstnameonlist@somewhere.com
You will type in:
Firstnameonlist@somewhere.com , secondnameonlist@somewhere.com
,
thirdnameonlist@somewhere.com
And so on and so forth.
You don't have to leave a space before and after the coma, we did that here
so you can see the coma easily.
That's all there is to it! Easy wasn't it?
